SYC members' ages range from early 30's to their 70's. Some have been rowing for more than 15 years while there are those just learning the sport after taking a Learn to Row class. All SYC members pitch in to perform the essential tasks to run a vibrant, successful crew organization. We maintain our equipment, coordinate attendance at regattas, participate in team decision-making and share administrative functions. SYC members are on the board of the Pocock Rowing Center and the Northwest Rowing Council. Our coach, Hans Hanson, was a collegiate rower at Dartmouth College and has earned his USRA Level II coaching credentials. His technical schooling and athletic experience combine to give our team efficient physiological training and solid technical instruction. His goals, and ours, are to win at regional and national levels ... and to have fun doing it.
